2004 Winners Circle

Our first 1-2 finish by husband/wife. heh heh. My brother is the only *individual* to take home 2 money prizes (back in 2000), but Kevin's "Glad to knock my brother-in-law off of that perch" with the first in-house 1-2 finish...

Here's the theme song and a toast to keeping it All in the Family.

Lyrics...
Boy the way Glen Miller played, songs that made the hit parade, guys like us we had it made, those were the days, and you knew where you were then, girls were girls and men were men, mister we could use a man like Herbert Hoover again, didn't need no welfare states... everybody pulls his weight, gee our old Lasalle ran great, those were the days!

1.Kevin Demoff. He is the General Manager of the Los Angeles Avengers and a graduate of Dartmouth. He picked Georgia Tech beyond Gonzaga on every entry and had them twice beating Kentucky in the Elite 8. He hit all Final 4 teams, but picked Oklahoma State past Georgia Tech. Picked Washington over Kentucky, then Kansas over UW. This is the first time Kevin's placed in the money in a pool since 1988 when Oklahoma won it all. The money will be of assistance as Kevin's planning on returning to Dartmouth for his Masters

2.Jennifer Demoff. Jennifer is a Nashville native, married to Kevin as of this past August, and works at UCLA School of Arts and Architecture. This is the best finish by a woman since Tricia Breslin took 2nd back in 2000. Jennifer was a believer in Georgia Tech and took them all the way to the finals. Ironically enough, she isn't all that big a fan of NCAA hoops (let that be a lesson to those who don't participate because they don't follow hoops)... she loves the Titans!! (hey, Debbie Price loves 'em as well... I have some good eddie george and steve mcnair rookie cards for sale :))

3.Charlie Ippoliti. Charlie is an actor who graduated from Oregon State. He likes the Big East since he's from Rhode Island. His name seems to popup every year. Last place from 2001-2003, 1st place in 2002, now 3rd. A big reason why Charlie came in the money is he only missed 4 1st round games and picked 73% of all the games correct, which is tied for the best pick percentage. Only 1 loss in East Rutherford. Would have finished better, but had Gonzaga/Kentucky to Elite 8, then Ok. St to finals. Good run.

4.Jon Carlson. Jon and I have been friends many years. He's married with a couple kids, and recently moved across the river to Washington. He attended University of Oregon for a couple years before moving north and attending Portland State. He loves the Ducks and has brainwashed his daughter into an avid Ducks fan. This is the first time I remember Jon coming in the money and he did so this year because (like Charlie), he picked 73% of the games right. He picked every first round game correct in Atlanta and Phoenix regions and only missed 4 1st round games total. Georgia Tech to the Elite 8 helped, but UK to the F4 and St. Josephs to the finals hurt.
